AI agents are here. But how they’re built matters.
Will they be owned and controlled by centralized AI platforms, subject to content restrictions and surveillance? Or will they be autonomous and aligned with their developers and users, and operating permissionlessly?
Venice is partnering with Warden Protocol to build the latter: AI agents that are censorship-resistant and verifiably operate onchain across 100+ blockchains.
Each partner brings complementary capabilities to this vision. Warden is building infrastructure for intelligent agents that can reason, execute, and coordinate across chains. Venice provides private, uncensored AI models that don't store conversations or restrict creative expression.
Together, they enable smart contracts to call Venice's AI models directly through Warden's blockchain infrastructure. Unlike traditional API calls that happen off-chain, Warden brings AI inference onchain with verifiable results. This means smart contract developers get consistent access to uncensored AI without needing to worry about content restrictions or deplatforming risk.
Venice models power Warden App & Warden Studio
The partnership spans two key products.
Venice models will power Warden App, a crypto-native AI co-pilot where complex Web3 actions, like swaps and transfers, can now be executed through simple chat.
Venice models will also be available as plugins in Warden Studio, giving developers direct access to uncensored AI capabilities for building Intelligent Applications.
"We're partnering with Warden to bring Venice's uncensored AI models directly onchain," says Erik Voorhees, Founder & CEO of Venice. "This means developers can access powerful open-source AI without content restrictions or deplatforming risk. Smart contracts gain genuine, uncensored intelligence while maintaining the open, permissionless nature of blockchain."
For Warden, the partnership advances their mission to build intelligent applications infrastructure. "Venice's models will be the backbone of our Warden App and a key primitive for developers building Intelligent Applications," explains David Pinger, CEO of Warden Labs.
Warden leverages a suite of proprietary agents to intelligently fulfill user requests. At the core of this system are Venice LLM models, which handle key tasks such as input routing, tool invocation, multi-step reasoning, and image generation. Depending on the nature of the prompt, Warden dynamically selects the appropriate Venice model—whether it's a general-purpose model for complex reasoning or a specialized model for generating images.
Intelligent Onchain Applications: Direct access to AI from smart contracts
Warden's infrastructure enables smart contracts to directly access Venice's uncensored AI models with verifiable outputs and cryptographic guarantees. This removes intermediaries and creates cross-chain AI functionality without platform dependencies.
DeFi protocols create trading assistants that interpret strategies and execute multi-step transactions
NFT platforms generate dynamic artwork based on onchain data and user preferences
Gaming applications build responsive NPCs that adapt to player actions and blockchain state
DAO governance tools interpret proposals through natural language interfaces
Risk management systems monitor positions with real-time insights from decentralized sources
These applications serve users directly rather than extracting value through data collection or API restrictions.
What’s next
Venice models now natively power the Warden App, with Warden Studio plugins coming shortly.
The partnership solves the core problems facing AI development today, where platforms control access, content, and data. Instead of relying on AI APIs that can restrict content or deplatform projects, developers get direct access to uncensored models through smart contracts. Instead of surveillance-based business models, applications can serve users without harvesting their data. Instead of platform-dependent infrastructure, the entire system operates onchain with cryptographic guarantees.
AI agents can now be built to serve users rather than platform interests. From DeFi trading assistants to dynamic NFT generation to autonomous DAO governance, intelligent applications can finally operate exactly as their creators intended.
