Your conversation history stays on your device. Venice does not maintain a central database of your prompts and responses.
Google Play limits some of what Venice can offer, so we also publish the complete Android app as an APK you install directly. It is the same Venice app with every feature included. Each release is published on GitHub with a SHA-256 checksum, so you can check the file downloaded intact.

Switching from the Google Play version?
Venice keeps your chats and generated media on your phone, so uninstalling the Google Play app deletes them. Back up first, then restore the backup once the APK is installed.
Back up your chats
Sign in and open Settings → Backup & Restore Chats → Backup. Choose a passphrase and where to save the encrypted file. Save it somewhere that stays after the app is removed, such as your Downloads folder or cloud storage.
Venice does not upload or store the backup file or passphrase. You control where it is kept and who can access it.
Backups include chats, messages, folders, Minds, memories, prompts, preferences, generated media and supported attachments. Most produce one .venicebackup file; larger backups produce a multi-part .venicebackuppack.
Chats and text support up to 500 MiB and media up to 2 GiB; oversized files may be skipped.
Restore your chats
Open the newly installed Venice app, sign in to the account that should receive the data, then open Settings → Backup & Restore Chats → Restore. Select the .venicebackup or .venicebackuppack from wherever you stored it and enter its passphrase.
Backups are portable between supported devices and can be restored into a different signed-in account; ownership is assigned to that account. Existing data remains, and when items match the newer version is kept.
Venice cannot recover a lost passphrase.
How to install
- If Venice from Google Play is installed, back up your chats, then uninstall it. The two versions can't install over each other.
- Download the APK on your Android phone.
- Open the file. If Android asks, allow installs from your browser.
- Tap Install, then open Venice and sign in.
- If you made a backup, restore it from Settings → Backup & Restore Chats → Restore.
